Colorado made shelter dogs and cats the Official State Pet in 2013. The legislation was promoted by the usual suspects: Retail Rescue. Now most rescues and animal shelters ran out of dogs years ago because most everyone sterilizes their pets and our society simply changed. Instead of going out of business and calling it a success, the shelters changed course and started sourcing for new ways to make money. According to the USDA in 2019, now over one million animals are smuggled and trafficked into the U.S. each year, just to keep the shelves of “non-profit” Retail Rescue stocked with new merchandise. Even IF veterinary care is provided, let’s face it…these animals are still a public health threat.
Think your local animal shelters are doing a good job when it comes to healthy animals? Think again!
